MCA bans Shahrukh for five years

The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) on Friday announced its decision to ban Bollywood superstar and owner of Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) Shahrukh Khan from entering Mumbai’s Wankhede stadium for five years.

Khan landed himself in a controversy and was set to be banned for life from entering Mumbai’s Wankhede stadium after getting into a scuffle with MCA personnel after KKR’s victory over Mumbai Indians on Wednesday.

MCA president Vilasrao Deshmukh said Khan ‘has shown no regrets for his action and behavior’. ”The managing committee of the MCA is forced to ban Shahrukh Khan from entering Wankhede for a period of five years,” Deshmukh said during a press conference.

He said neither MCA nor the BCCI could support the behaviour of Khan. ”Nobody can support such behaviour, be it BCCI, IPL, MCA,” Deshmukh said.
