Filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari is assembling one of the most ambitious star casts for his upcoming mythological epic, Ramayana, led by Ranbir Kapoor. The film already boasts names like Yash, Sai Pallavi, and Sunny Deol. Now, fresh reports suggest that actor Mohit Raina is being considered to portray Lord Shiva.
Mohit Raina May Return as Mahadev
According to India Forums and other portals, Mohit Raina is in advanced talks to reprise his iconic role as Mahadev Shiva. While an official confirmation is still awaited, fans are thrilled at the possibility of seeing Raina return to a role that made him a household name. His portrayal of Lord Shiva in Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev (2011–2014) earned widespread acclaim for its gravitas and spiritual depth.

Star-Studded Cast for a Grand Vision
Tiwari’s Ramayana features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita. Yash will take on the role of Raavan, while Sunny Deol is reportedly playing Lord Hanuman. Lara Dutta and Sheeba Chaddha will appear as Kaikeyi and Manthara, respectively. Ravi Dubey steps into the role of Lakshman, and veteran actor Arun Govil will portray King Dasharatha. Kunal Kapoor is cast as Lord Indra.

Release Timeline
Ramayana Part 1 is slated for release on Diwali 2026, with Part 2 aiming for Diwali 2027. Reports suggest that the second installment will be filmed by October this year.
