Pankaj Tripathi slams Ranveer Allahbadia! Lack of censorship doesn’t mean you can say anything

During a recent interview with Screen, renowned actor Pankaj Tripathi weighed in on the current controversy between Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia. The actor was concerned about the absence of sensibility among some internet influencers who become popular quickly without necessarily being mature or responsible enough.

Need for Sensibility and Intelligence

Pankaj Tripathi pointed out that becoming famous on the web does not mean one has the wisdom or social consciousness to move the masses. He wondered about the sense of internet personalities who tend to talk carelessly, particularly when they are not ready to bear the responsibility that goes with their new influence. He also said that because censorship does not exist, it is not that one can say anything in the name of entertainment. The actor identified that entertaining rubbish could be socially accepted, but boasting about it is not all right.

The Power of Words and Its Responsibility

The actor went on to say that words are of great power, and those who hold power should exercise caution as to what they say. He emphasized that individuals can become viral in a very short time, but viral is transient. Pankaj emphasized that true success is not only fame, but also how an individual leverages that platform. He emphasized the importance of being sensitive to the impact of words, particularly if they have the ability to make an impact on many people.

Future Projects

On the work front, Pankaj was last seen in Stree 2, directed by Amar Kaushik. The movie also had Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana in the lead. The next work of the actor is Metro In Dino, an anthology movie directed by Anurag Basu. The film has an ensemble cast like Sara Ali Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, and Konkona Sen Sharma.
