Actor R Madhavan recently made a candid confession about his financial situation, revealing feelings of insecurity regarding his bank account. The actor, known for his versatility on screen, admitted that he doesn’t keep track of his finances, despite having a general sense of his monetary standing.
Insecurity About Finances
Appearing on Mashable’s Dubai Journey series, hosted by Rannvijay Singha, Madhavan shared that he feels insecure about his financial status. He confessed, “I’m really insecure about my bank account. I really don’t know how much I have, and how much I can afford to scrutinise it, because I don’t know what will come of it. I have a broad understanding of (how much I have).” He further explained how, in the past, he used to track his finances through his passbook but doesn’t follow it up regularly anymore.
A Passion for Learning New Skills
In the same interview, Madhavan also opened up about his personal interests, such as owning a small boat and obtaining his captain’s license. He mentioned that during the COVID-19 lockdown, he took the opportunity to learn a new skill and successfully acquired a captain’s license. Madhavan described the process as relatively simple, involving a short study period followed by exams and practicals.
Living Within His Means
On the topic of spending, Madhavan confessed that he is not particularly careful with money but always lives within his means. In a previous interview, he said, “If I desire to have a bigger car or better stuff, but if it doesn’t fit my budget, I will not buy it.” Despite not flaunting worldly possessions, he expressed how his stardom provides him the liberty to enjoy certain privileges.
Future Projects
Madhavan, who recently starred in Hisaab Barabar, a film exploring bank scams, has multiple projects lined up in both Tamil and Hindi cinema. He will be seen in films like Adhirshtasaali, Test, Amriki Pandit, De De Pyaar De 2, Kesari Chapter 2, and the biopic on Sir Chettur Shankaran Nair. His upcoming roles continue to showcase his diverse acting range.
