Shah Rukh Khan death threat: Accused tracked actor’s movements online

The arrest of Faizan Khan, a Raipur-based lawyer, has drawn attention due to his alleged involvement in sending death threats to Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan. Khan is accused of demanding ₹50 lakh in extortion and threatening the actor’s life. Recent findings in the investigation suggest that Khan was closely monitoring Shah Rukh Khan’s movements, as well as those of his son, Aryan Khan. This tracking was reportedly done through detailed online searches to gather sensitive information, including the actor’s family’s security arrangements. The evidence was uncovered through a forensic analysis of a second mobile phone belonging to Faizan Khan, which was recovered by the Bandra Police.

Khan, who has been in judicial custody, initially claimed that his phone had been stolen and that he was being framed, but his statements during interrogation have been inconsistent and evasive. Additionally, it was revealed that both Shah Rukh and Aryan Khan have been provided Y-plus security by the Maharashtra government due to these threats.

The case came to light on November 7 when Mumbai Police received an anonymous call threatening Shah Rukh Khan’s life, demanding money, and tracing the call to Raipur. Faizan Khan was arrested and questioned shortly thereafter. The lawyer had previously lodged a complaint against Shah Rukh Khan, stemming from a controversial dialogue about deer hunting in the actor’s 1994 movie Anjaam.
