The ultimate comeback! Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan’s Main Hoon Na 2 to break Box Office records

Bollywood may heave a sigh of relief as stories are circulating about troublemaker director Farah Khan having started working on Main Hoon Na 2, a sequel to the smash hit starring the light of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, in 2004. And ironically, the original, being the directorial debut of Farah, turned out to be a hit and still managed to find a place in the cult lists years after release. Now, after nearly two decades, there are rumors Farah and SRK may again join hands for Main Hoon Na 2.

Farah is designing the script of the sequel under Red Chillies Entertainment-the production banner owned by Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan. Farah came up with the concept of the sequel, and Shah Rukh likes the direction she intends to take. The screenplay is being written by Farah’s writing team along with Red Chillies’ in-house writers,” says an insider from the project.

But while a sequel is exciting, Shah Rukh is cautious. The source added, “SRK has made it very clear to the producers that he won’t approve a sequel for nostalgia’s sake because he understands how iconic Main Hoon Na is and wants a strong script that shall surpass the original in its impact.”

It could be ready with the first draft of Main Hoon Na 2 by mid-2025. Then, it will be sent to Shah Rukh to have a look at it. If everything works out, then it will be the fourth SRK-Farah Khan collaboration, after Main Hoon Na, Om Shanti Om, and Happy New Year.

On the professional front, Shah Rukh Khan is all set to raise the curtains on Pathaan 2, the next installment immediately following.
