Soha Ali Khan: MR. JOE B. CARVALHO would be a hugely enjoyable outing

For someone who has forever been tagged as ‘Ms. Touch Me Not’ ever since she made her debut with DIL MAANGE MORE opposite Shahid Kapoor in 2004, Soha Ali Khan is returning in a new avatar. Meanwhile it is also apparent that she has finally managed to break the stereotype around herself.

“I know,” says Soha, “People have forever imagined me as this girl next door or someone with a royal background. I wanted to get out of this stereotype. The humour factor of the film is what made me go for it. There are so many incidents in the film which were so funny and really made me laugh. I said to my director Samir Tewari during the narration that even if we could capture some of these on-screen, it would be a hugely enjoyable outing for the audience.”

One can well understand though that she must have felt the same about WAR CHHOD NAA YAAR as well which released and then went without making much noise. Wasn’t she disappointed, considering it had some good entertainment quotient?

“It is heartbreaking when a film doesn’t do well,” sighs Soha, “However, it is not possible to tell why it didn’t do well. Still, all said and done, the film was a lot better than many others that released this year. Anyways, there is no logic or rational to a film’s failure though. One just moves on.”

This is exactly what Soha is doing as she looks forward to MR. JOE B. CARVALHO which is all set to be the first release of 2014.
