Irani describes The Mehta Boys as a moving tale of how time, misunderstandings, and unresolved conflicts test the strongest of relationships. It features a talented cast led by Boman Irani, Avinash Tiwary, Shreya Chaudhry, and Puja Sarup. In the film, Tiwary plays Amay, Irani’s on-screen son who faces a battle of loyalty towards his family and his resentment. It is a journey through an intense confrontation with his father that he will be undertaking-the emotive hues promise to surface vividly before the audience.
Speaking about the project, Irani shared, “For me, The Mehta Boys is an extremely personal story. The father-son bond is one of the most compelling dynamics-think time, think misunderstandings, think unresolved conflicts-and how those might arrive to test the strongest of relationships. Within this is my reading of this particular father-son relationship.”
Tiwary shared his own attachment to the character as well, “Amay is very complex. He is brought into an encounter with his father by circumstances that change his outlook on things in ways that he would never ever expect.”
Produced by Irani Movietone LLP along with Chalkboard Entertainment LLP, The Mehta Boys will be available on Prime Video in India and over 240 countries and territories within the world starting from February 7.
