Dhanush officially announces his fourth directorial and 52nd film as an actor, titled Idli Kadai

Dhanush has officially announced his fourth directorial and 52nd film as an actor, titled Idli Kadai. The actor took to X (formerly Twitter) to reveal the concept poster of the film, featuring a roadside shack under a starry night. In the image, a shopkeeper is seen inside the shack, with another person observing him from outside. While Dhanush himself will star in the film, the rest of the cast is yet to be disclosed.

Dhanush’s speech at the audio launch of his upcoming film Raayan left the internet split

The movie’s crew includes GV Prakash Kumar as the composer, Kiran Koushik as the cinematographer, and Prasanna GK as the editor. The film is produced by Aakash Baskaran under Dawn Pictures, along with Dhanush’s own banner, Wunderbar Films.

Earlier this year, Dhanush faced a temporary ban by the Tamil Film Producers Council for taking advances from producers without completing the agreed projects. The issue has since been resolved, with Dhanush agreeing to repay the amount owed and to work with certain producers. *Idli Kadai* marks his first Tamil film since the ban was lifted.

In addition to Idli Kadai, Dhanush is set to appear in Kubera directed by Sekhar Kammula, co-starring Rashmika Mandanna, Nagarjuna, and Jim Sarbh. He also has a biopic of Ilaiyaraaja, Maestro, in the pipeline, as well as another directorial project, Nilavukku En Mel Ennadi Kobam, with a promising cast lineup.

Dhanush recently stirred controversy with his speech at the audio launch of his upcoming film “Raayan.” He referred to himself as an “outsider” and recounted how he worked hard to buy a house in the prestigious Poes Garden, known for housing Rajinikanth and the late Jayalalithaa. Dhanush described his journey from a 16-year-old dreaming of living in such a posh locality to finally purchasing a house there as a gift to his younger self.
