Producer KE Gnanavel Raja recently shared exciting insights about his upcoming fantasy action film Kanguva, directed by Siva and starring Suriya, Bobby Deol, and Disha Patani, during a discussion on X (formerly Twitter) Spaces. Here’s what he revealed:
Release Date and Languages: Kanguva will be released worldwide on November 14, across eight languages Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, English, French, and Spanish. The producer also hinted at potential releases in Chinese and Japanese.
AI Voice Dubbing: In a pioneering move for Kollywood, Gnanavel confirmed that AI technology will be used for dubbing Suriya’s character in other languages. While Suriya will dub only for the Tamil version, AI-generated voiceovers will be utilized for the other language versions. This follows a similar experiment with Amitabh Bachchan’s voice in another project.
Screen Count: Kanguva will be released in approximately 3,500 screens worldwide. However, despite initial discussions, the producer stated that there are no plans for an IMAX release
Pre-Release Event: The production team has reached out to major stars like Rajinikanth and Prabhas to be chief guests at the film’s pre-release event, further increasing the buzz around the film.
Film’s Cast and Crew: The film features a star-studded ensemble including Jagapathi Babu, Natarajan Subramaniam, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Anandaraj, and **KS Ravikumar in key roles. **Devi Sri Prasad** is composing the music, with Vetri Palanisamy as cinematographer and Nishadh Yusuf as editor.
Suriya’s Dual Role and Setting: Suriya will be seen in dual roles, primarily as a warrior. While promotional materials have focused on the period aspect of the film, one poster hinted at a modern-day connection, adding to the intrigue as the plot remains largely under wraps.
