After Salman, Sunny Deol enters UP-Bihar for SINGH SAHIB THE GREAT

Salman Khan‘s DABANGG stays on to be the biggest blockbuster ever that a film has turned out to be after being set in the UP-Bihar zone. While the escapades of Chulbul Pandey are being talked about till date, it is now time to see Sunny using his ‘dhai kilo ka haath’ on the UP-Bihar mafia dominated by ‘bhaiyyas’ and ‘babus’

“Sunny paaji plays a Collector in the film. Incidentally, even Salman played a law keeper in DABANGG though he had his own rogue ways of dealing with crime. Now with Sunny coming into picture as a head of administration, Anil Sharma has decided that the location setting would change for the actor though his trait of being quintessentially Punjabi would stay intact,” informs our source.

Even though the film’s title SINGH SAHIB THE GREAT suggests that the film would be based in Punjab, this isn’t going to be the case as director Anil Sharma has resolved to come out of the GADAR – EK PREM KATHA mode and instead enter the heartland of India.

“Though we have given a huge all time blockbuster like GADAR together, there was no temptation for me to revisit the land. There has to be something exciting for me as a director. We would be shooting in real locations at UP and Bihar border,” he confirms, “Yes, there would be historical/mythical/religious references to SINGH SAHIB THE GREAT but the film is entirely set in contemporary times.”

Guess Chulbul Pandey has competition in Singh Sahib here. The film goes on floors this November.
