Very much on the expected lines, this week's major release, from the Bhatt banner, Kunal Khemu's BLOOD MONEY, failed to embark upon even a decent start. While the single screens were better at 25-30 percent, the multiplexes were disappointing at around 15-20 percent. The collections did see an increase during the latter shows (especially at single screens of the Hindi belt), but it was not encouraging enough. All the same, given the high number of screens, BLOOD MONEY will still manage a decent weekend haul.
The other release of the week, BUMBOO, failed to tickle the funny bones of the audience, even with a barge pole and was extremely poor at below 5 percent.
Meanwhile, last Friday's AGENT VINOD saw a sizeable fall in collections during the weekdays, after a good 28-29 crore weekend. As per early estimates, the 62 crores (all inclusive) Saif-Kareena starrer has netted around 38 crores (to be validated) during the opening week from India and will have to perform reasonably well in the second week, to get to the positive side of the fulcrum.
