In the world of Hindi cinema or for that matter in any realm when lovers separate, they wear the pangs of separation on their shoulders and do not think twice before displaying the disdain, where they to cross their paths.
But Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor seem to be one pair who do not believe in the old school of thought of heaping scorn in the public against each other, after they separated but carry on working professionally.

On the eve of the party Ranbir Kapoor arrived with his current girlfriend Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone arrived alone separately, participated in the party, was gracious in not showing any emotions when Ranbir accompanied Katrina Kaif.
It all perhaps boil down to the upbringing that she has been provided by her parents, the Padukones, more so his dad Prakash Padukone, who is amongst the finest sports gentlemen to have made his mark in India.
Besides, coming from a family of a sports person, the sportsman spirit seems to have been provided in fair abundance and it indeed is helping Deepika in maintaining her calm and poise when faced with the situations in public of his erstwhile boyfriend walking in with a different lady.
The short point of the argument lies in the fact that indeed the spirit of sportsmanship needs to be the guiding principle through which one should govern oneself in public life. In particular, for a woman, for whom the stereotyped notion is that when betrayed in love, she could be most revengeful.
