OM SHANTI OM: This Deepika Padukone’s debut film is a story about the rebirth of a lover played by Shah Rukh Khan, who dies poor in one life & is a super-successful star in his next life. While he does not get his love in his previous life, a lady with the same face enters his life with desperateness to meet the superstar.
KARAN ARJUN: This evergreen drama is always remembered for the epic dialogue ‘Mere Karan Arjun aayenge’. Shah Rukh Khan & Salman Khan took punar janam on the wish of their mother played by Rakhee and also settled the old score with their killers.
PREM: Sanjay Kapur tries to convince Tabu that they were lovers in past life. In fact, they are janmo ke premis
KARZ: Raj Kiran’s character is killed by his wife Simi Garewal. He is reborn as Rishi Kapoor and seeks revenge of his death. KARZZZ was re-enacted by Himesh Reshammiya in 2008 as well, although it was a complete wash-out, unlike the Rishi Kapoor starrer!
DANGEROUS ISHHQ: Just like Sunny's character in EK PAHELI LEELA, Karisma Kapoor also played a superstar in her comeback film DANGEROUS ISHHQ, in which she is on a journey to unveil the details of her previous life.
NEEL KAMAL: Waheeda Rahman’s character Sita gets drawn to her lover, played by Raajkumar, from a previous birth, whenever his soul croons ’Tujhko pukaare mera pyaar’. She gradually realizes that her sleepwalking is not simple and it eventually takes her to the story of past life.
TERI MERI KAHAANI This remake of Taiwanese film THREE TIMES is a story about Shahid Kapoor- Priyanka Chopra’s love story in 3 lives- in the 1910s, 1960s & in 2012.
KRISHNA COTTAGE: Ishaa Koppikar’s soul has only one mission- to get her love from the past life. Sohail Khan (who is Ishaa’s love) rejected Ishaa in his previous as well as his current life. Sohail & Anita Hassanandani are then happily married as Ishaa’s soul realizes that her love was a one-sided one.
HAMESHAA Saif Ali Khan & Kajol were paired in this re-incarnation story which had Aditya Pancholi as its villain. The couple, who was separated in their previous life, reconcile in their current life with Aditya’s death.
MAHAL MAHAL gave Lata Mangeshkar & Madhubala’s career a kick-start. The song ‘Aayega Aanewala Aayega’ attracted Ashok Kumar to Madhubala who is the beautiful ghost in MAHAL. KARZ & OM SHANTI OM are believed to be inspired by this movie!
TUMKO NA BHOOL PAYENGE saw Salman Khan play the role of an amnesiac who can hardly recollect memories from his past life.
