His JANNAT 2 has enjoyed collections to the tune of 25 crores in its first three days itself, hence making the film a commercial winner already. With weekdays being reasonably steady as well, it is fifth success in a row for the actor after THE DIRTY PICTURE, MURDER 2, DIL TOH BACCHA HAI JI and ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI.
However before he aims for the top and starts challenging the Khans in years to come, his immediate competition are the likes of Ranbir Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor and Imran Khan.
"Shahid has to first make it big with TERI MERI KAHAANI. However it's the league of Ranbir and Imran that Emraan has truly entered", says a veteran filmmaker, "These two youngsters may have seen dream launches for themselves but Emraan had only talent to back himself up.
When contacted, Emraan smiled and said, "Let me soak into the film's success, there is no point dragging the numbers business here. It is heartening that my films are taking opening on a regular note.
Of course every actor has an aspiration and I too carry one that I should guarantee a good opening for my films at the box office. Beyond that I don't want to shout from the rooftops that 'hey, look at me, I am a superstar'. I am content doing so through my films."
