This week's two new releases, GANGS OF WASSEYPUR and TERI MERI KAHAANI, have many big names associated with them and therefore it is an opportune moment to look at the recent records of some of the celebrities.
Another well-known name associated with GOW is actor Manoj Bajpai and who can forget his Bhikhu Mahatre act from SATYA. It is expected that after his recent successes RAJNEETI and a great performance in AARAKSHAN, Manoj will definitely make a big impact with GOW.
Priyanka Chopra made a splendid debut with Akshay Kumar's ANDAAZ, and later scored quite a few hits. She recently scored two centuries with DON 2 and AGNEEPATH, and TERI MERI KAHAANI is an important project for her.
Shahid Kapoor made a stunning debut with ISHK VISHK, and later gave solo hits like VIVAAH and JAB WE MET, but his crowning glory was KAMINEY. The recent MAUSAM setback can be a washed aside if TERI MERI KAHAANI can score a hit.
With MUJHSE DOSTI KAROGE Kunal Kohli saw a rather disappointing start, with the best available team (Hrithik, Kareena & Rani) for Yash Raj Films. He later made amends with HUM TUM and peaked with FANAA for the same banner.
Unfortunately his first co-production with YRF, THODA PYAAR THODA MAGIC and his first independent production (directed by Danish Aslam), BREAK KE BAAD bombed at the ticket window. And so TERI MERI KAHAANI is of utmost importance to Kunal Kohli.
