The GUNDAY team recreatedThe GUNDAY team recreated 80s Calcutta and shot a dramatic Durga Puja sequence under Howrah Bridge bringing Kolkata to a standstill recently. A crowd of 1000 ecstatic and overjoyed people could be heard chanting slogans ‘Joy Bikram! Joy Bala!’ The city of Joy is reveling in friendship between Ranveer Singh & Arjun Kapoor both onscreen and off screen. With the crowd going berserk, there was lot of security that had to be arranged.

The pandals created reflected old Calcutta city.
A Source says, “About 50 – 60 lakh has been spent to get the 80s look. There has been lot of planning behind this. This sequence is a very important part of the film.”

One of the oldest professionals was hired to create the look of the pandal and they did complete justice to it, giving a feel of real durga puja in Calcutta.
Yash Raj Films’ GUNDAY is currently being shoot in Kolkata. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and Produced by Aditya Chopra, the film stars Ranveer Singh & Arjun Kapoor, as Bikram and Bala, along with Priyanka Chopra and Irrfan Khan, in lead roles.
