Without doubt the month of June is considered to be a profitable one for Bollywood in India, as most of the schools and colleges and affiliated offices close for the long summer vacation.
Exam period (including competitive tests), which extends from March to almost May also gets over and it's relaxation time for all concerned. So Bollywood too is geared up to serve its best gourmet delights in June!
The first day of the month, that is 1st June will see Prabhu Deva's Akshay-Sonakshi, superhot 'masala' flick, ROWDY RATHORE, storming box-office worldwide. As time and again we have already informed our patrons why ROWDY RATHORE is red hot amongst the trade and distributors, and also the audience, so we do not need to go into the intricate details of this destined to succeed movie, that is all set to mark Akshay and Sonakshi's back-to-back centuries! And with ROWDY RATHORE Bollywood is likely to open its success account in June.
Following close on the heels is Dibakar Banerjee's SHANGHAI, which releases on 8th June. The Emraan Hashmi, Abhay Deol, Pitobash and Kalki Koechlin starrer is carrying some very good reports, and keeping in mind Dibakar's amazing track record and lead actor Emraan Hashmi's recent success march, there is no doubting the fact that SHANGHAI would surely turn out to be the second success for Bollywood in June.
The third off the block will be Vidhu Vinod Chopra's FERRARI KI SAWAARI which sees a June 15th release and we have already listed our reasons as to why we feel that FKS would turn out to be a surprise success.
And rounding off the month will be Kunal Kohli's love story (spanning three time spans), TERI MERI KAHAANI, and also Anurag Kashyap's festival favourite GANGS OF WASSEYPUR.
The Shahid Kapoor-Priyanka Chopra starrer, TERI MERI KAHAANI, is a love story, a super safe genre in Bollywood, and it's been a long time since the audience has seen a well made, all out romance flick.
Anurag Kashyap's GANGS OF WASSEYPUR too is expected to make its impact amongst the elite and intellectual audience and may also be patronized by single screen public due to its massy contents.
So, it should be a super successful June for the Hindi film industry, and all concerned, and 'balle' balle' for the audience!
