Why Salman’s ‘Chulbul Pandey’ doesn’t need a change

While Salman Khan‘s ‘Chulbul Pandey’ has turned out to be an iconic character since the time DABANGG came, Arbaaz Khan too has been cautious about not bringing too many changes in the film when it comes to characterisation, lest it is considered sacrilege.

“That’s because I have to be true to my earlier film and character. I cannot go around making changes just for the sake of it. In terms of the film’s look, feel, ambience and essence of the character, we are going as per DABANGG. However, situations and scenarios have definitely changed, hence leading to a new story,” details Arbaaz.

So what exactly is the conflict this time around?

“It would be a little too early to start divulging about that since there is still time for the film’s release. All I can say is that Chulbul Pandey has moved to a different space and city and is finding himself in the midst of much larger conflicts and confrontations. Though we have let the earthiness of the character stay on, the scale and ambience of the film is bigger,” hints Arbaaz.

With Sonakshi Sinha in the lead, Prakash Raj as the villain and Arbaaz Khan also featuring in it, DABANGG 2 has music by Sajid-Wajid and is all set for 21st December release.
