“Gullak” Season 4 Review: A Disappointingly Stretched Season with Average Performances

“Gullak” Season 4, much anticipated by fans of the charming Mishra family, unfortunately fails to live up to its predecessors. While the previous seasons of this heartwarming series set high standards with their relatable storytelling and memorable performances, the latest installment falls short in multiple areas, resulting in a rather average viewing experience.

One of the major issues with Season 4 is its pacing. The narrative feels excessively stretched, with episodes dragging on without significant development or engagement. This results in a loss of the tight, crisp storytelling that made earlier seasons so compelling. The charm and wit that defined the series seem diluted, making it difficult for viewers to stay invested.

The performances in this season are another letdown. While the cast, including Jameel Khan, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Vaibhav Raj Gupta, and Harsh Mayar, has delivered strong performances in the past, their portrayal in Season 4 lacks the same spark and authenticity. The characters, who once felt like a true reflection of a middle-class Indian family, now seem to be going through the motions, resulting in a less engaging and impactful narrative.

Comparatively, the last season was much better in terms of both storytelling and performances. Season 3 managed to balance humor and emotion effectively, providing viewers with episodes that were both entertaining and thought-provoking. In contrast, Season 4 struggles to find this balance, leading to a series of episodes that feel lackluster and uninspired.

Despite these shortcomings, “Gullak” Season 4 does retain some of its original charm. The show’s ability to highlight the everyday struggles and joys of a middle-class family remains intact, but the execution is not as compelling as before. The relatable moments and occasional flashes of humor remind viewers why they fell in love with the Mishra family, but these instances are too few and far between.

In conclusion, “Gullak” Season 4 is a disappointingly average continuation of a beloved series. Its stretched narrative and lackluster performances result in a season that pales in comparison to its predecessor.
