The opening of Homi Adajania’s Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty starrer, COCKTAIL, was expected to be good, but that was not the case.
The start has been bumper to very good! Even at good cinemas of mid-sized towns COCKTAIL has embarked on a good start. The single screens are obviously not on the same level (due to BOL BACHCHAN), but nevertheless quite decent.

Coming to the logistics, at the metro and ‘A’ centre multiplexes of Mumbai circuit, Delhi-U.P. , East Punjab and Hyderabad-Nizam, the morning shows saw a bumper 80-100 percent start. At the mid-sized towns the film saw around 75 percent, while single screens too notched up a healthy 50-60 percent.

Given the advance trends for Saturday and Sunday, the film is all set to be the biggest opener ever for a Saif Ali Khan solo!
Meanwhile last week’s Rohit Shetty directed Ajay, Abhishek and Asin starrer, has managed a good first week netting in the range of 61-62 crore (to be validated). The film is a sure shot hit, given the second weekend start!
