Step into the retro times and chances are that references to many a chartbuster/eye candy songs-n-dances of Helen and Bindu are made, whenever a cabaret or a special item number comes into the picture. However this isn’t the case with Priyanka Chopra and her GUNDAY where director Ali Abbas Zafar and producer Aditya Chopra have taken a different route.
“Instead, there is a French inspiration coming into play,” informs our well-placed source, “Back in the 70s, in which the film is set, all the famous dancers from abroad used to perform in these exclusive clubs and though Helen and Bindu were quite popular across the country, their Bollywood moves were not on display out there.”

Confirms Ali, “Helen and Bindu have been great dancers but for the purpose of GUNDAY, Priyanka’s song hasn’t been composed or shot in a manner that was so popular in Bollywood’s 70s. What you would see is a newer take with a little more classic feel to it.”
We would like to see that when the song is unveiled in the month of January.
