Srijit Mukherji’s Hindi film – ‘Kakababu’ is all set to hit the big screens on 4th February 2022. Prosenjit Chatterjee will portray the character of ‘Kakababu’ in the movie, while Bengal’s young talent Aryann Bhowmik will play the character of Kakababu’s companion ‘Santu’ on screen.
Bengali author Sunil Gangopadhyay is the creator of the fictional adventure character ‘Kakababu’ and the plot of the movie is based on his famous Kakababu-Santu adventure story ‘Jongoler Modhye Ek Hotel’.
‘Kakababu’ is extensively shot in the exotic jungles of Africa to meet up to the grandeur of the story, which is also one of the key factors of the movie. The film showcases the wildlife of Africa through the eyes of two-time National Award-Winning Director Srijit Mukherji and it is the first Indian film which is shot at Africa’s Masai Mara National Reserve.
Elated at the Hindi release of the movie, Director Srijit Mukherji said, “We are all ready to bring Kakababu’s newest adventure to a much wider audience by releasing it in Hindi on 4th February, on the same day along with the Bengali release. I believe that the grandeur of the story will captivate both regional and National audiences alike. Through the Hindi release, we will be able to take the iconic Bengali detective duo to the National level. People outside Bengal are aware of Feluda and Byomkesh Bakshi but now I am excited to bring another iconic Bengali detective figure to the national audience.”
‘Kakababu’ will bring the gripping adventure of Kakababu and Santu in the wilderness of the Masai Mara jungles of Africa to the National audience. The extraordinary story of the mystery behind disappearing tourists in the green lands of Africa will be brought closer to audiences across the country on 4th February 2022.
