Bollywood actor Aamir Khan and actress Juhi Chawla shared an amazing chemistry on-screen–indeed there was no duo more matchless in the likes of movies like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Ishq but off-screen, their relationship hit rocky patches owing to certain outrageous pranks pulled by Aamir, which sent Juhi into a crazed rage, to the point of even conspicuously skipping the shoot the next day.
In a past interview, Juhi Chawla recounted the mishap during the filming of Ishq that she claimed Aamir Khan would play tricks on her in collaboration with Ajay Devgn. One such “trick” made her cry, and in angry frustration, she chose not to tell any jokes the next day.
Aamir’s Apology and the Aftermath
Juhi stubbornly refrained from attending, which caused a ruckus on set. The following day, Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgn, and director Indra Kumar came to Juhi’s house where Aamir apologized to her for his childishness but yet expressed his annoyance at Juhi’s response.
Aamir told her, “You can fight with me and speak your mind, but you can’t not show up on set. You have put that whole day’s shooting to a halt. That’s running a loss to the producer.” Juhi took this incident as a learning experience about the importance of communication because unexplained feelings do cause misunderstandings most of the time.
And years later, they laughed about it all, with Juhi recalling the situation later as pretty “stupid,” while Aamir stated he never realized the extent of hurt it had caused her at that time.
But all through, they maintained an excellent professional and personal relationship, proving that even the biggest stars in Bollywood have their fair share of emotional sequences off the screen.
