Shah Rukh Khan has finally clinched his first National Film Award, winning Best Actor for Jawan at the 71st National Film Awards. In a heartfelt video message, the Bollywood icon expressed his deep gratitude to his fans, collaborators, and loved ones.
“Overwhelmed with Gratitude”
Wearing a beanie, casual T-shirt, jeans, and a sling due to a recent injury, Khan opened his message with humility: “I am overwhelmed with gratitude, pride, and humility. To be honoured with a National Award is a moment that I will cherish for a lifetime.” He thanked the jury, the chairman, and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for the prestigious recognition.
Tribute to Directors and Team
SRK gave a warm shoutout to the directors and writers of his 2023 projects, with special mention to Jawan director Atlee. “Thank you, Raju sir. Thank you, Saeed. And especially thanks to Atlee sir and his team for trusting me to deliver and be worthy of this award.”
He also praised his personal team, noting their patience and dedication: “They bear with my eccentricities and impatience and give me their full attention, making me look much better than I am.”
Family and Fans Come First
In perhaps the most emotional part of his message, Shah Rukh acknowledged his family’s silent sacrifices: “My wife and kids know my obsession with cinema takes me away from them, but they bear it with a smile.”
Ending on a signature charming note, he addressed fans with humour: “I would love to spread my arms for you, but I’m a bit indisposed. Don’t worry, keep the popcorn ready—I’ll be back in theatres soon.”
Even with one arm in a sling, Shah Rukh Khan proves why he continues to rule hearts across generations.
