Bollywood continues to grieve the loss of Zarine Khan, the mother of Sussanne and Zayed Khan, who passed away on November 7 at the age of 81 after a prolonged battle with age-related health issues. A beloved figure in both the film and fashion worlds, Zarine’s passing has left a void deeply felt across the industry.

The veteran model, actress, and interior designer was laid to rest at Juhu crematorium in Mumbai, where family members, close friends, and well-known film personalities gathered to pay their final respects. Among those present were Hrithik Roshan, Saba Azad, Jackie Shroff, Bobby Deol, and Jaya Bachchan, all seen offering condolences to the grieving Khan family. Zarine’s son Zayed Khan, visibly emotional, broke down while performing her last rites.

As tributes poured in, Priyanka Chopra shared a heartfelt note on Instagram, remembering Zarine with deep affection. Posting a picture from one of Zarine’s birthday celebrations, Priyanka wrote, “Will always remember you with the greatest joy and incredible energy. You will be very missed, Zarine aunty.” Her message reflected the warmth and admiration many in Bollywood felt toward the late designer, who was known for her elegance and generosity.

A few hours later, Priyanka’s mother, Dr. Madhu Chopra, also paid tribute to her longtime friend. “RIP my dearest friend. You will be so missed!!” she wrote. Meanwhile, Kajol expressed her grief, posting, “What a heart-wrenching loss! Shocked and saddened… deepest condolences and prayers to the whole family,” accompanied by a broken heart emoji.

Zarine Khan is survived by her husband, veteran actor and director Sanjay Khan, and their four children—Sussanne Khan, Simone Arora, Farah Ali Khan, and Zayed Khan. Known for her striking beauty and poise, Zarine was among the early trailblazers of India’s modeling and advertising industry in the 1960s and 1970s. She also appeared in Hindi films, including the 1963 classic Tere Ghar Ke Samne opposite Dev Anand, before transitioning to a successful career in interior design.
