Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron’s Chat Logs Obtained: Lawyer Speaks Out on Investigation!

Kim Sae Ron’s family releases “forensic” chats as Kim Soo Hyun demands a swift probe; both sides clash over allegations of dating while she was a minor.

Days after private KakaoTalk conversations between Kim Soo Hyun and the late actress Kim Sae Ron were leaked online, a new statement from Kim Sae Ron’s family lawyer has intensified public scrutiny. The lawyer claimed that the messages being circulated were obtained through “forensic extraction,” emphasizing that the full context will be presented in court rather than through selective online leaks.

According to the lawyer, all electronic devices belonging to Kim Sae Ron were voluntarily submitted to authorities as part of the ongoing investigation. “To prevent further misunderstandings, we will reveal the KakaoTalk messages secured through forensic extraction and submitted as evidence, proving that Kim Sae Ron and Kim Soo Hyun dated in 2018,” the statement read, as reported by Korean media outlets.

This comes weeks after Kim Sae Ron’s mother revived allegations asserting that the Queen of Tears actor had dated her daughter when she was still a minor. She also accused Kim Soo Hyun’s legal team of distorting facts to protect his image. In support of her claim, the mother shared a memo she says was retrieved from the actor’s device, dated September 28, 2017—before his military enlistment. She also pointed to an alleged message sent ahead of a planned meeting in April 2018, in which he wrote, “I want to see you immediately,” followed by, “I’m completely undressed,” insisting this indicated a romantic relationship.

Kim Soo Hyun has consistently denied allegations that he dated the actress while she was underage, addressing the issue publicly at a press conference. “I did not date the deceased when she was a minor,” he said firmly. “We dated five years ago for about a year, long before Queen of Tears aired.”

The actor has since urged for a swift, transparent investigation, expressing frustration over the prolonged process. His lawyer, Ko Sang-rok, stated that while police claim significant progress has been made, he remains concerned about whether the investigation has focused on the “core of the case.”

More than seven months since the initial complaint was filed on March 20, no change to the investigative team has been requested. However, the actor’s side argues that the delays are causing serious damage to his reputation. The lawyer added that disclosing certain private records became necessary to counter rampant speculation and misinformation spreading online.

As both sides continue to defend their positions, the case remains one of the most closely watched in Korean entertainment, with the public awaiting the court’s conclusions.
