Ragini MMS 3 Postponed? Tamannaah Bhatia’s Film in Trouble After Director Quits!

Tamannaah Bhatia’s Ragini MMS 3 is reportedly delayed as the film goes on hold, with the makers now searching for a new director.

Actress Tamannaah Bhatia is reportedly set to headline the upcoming horror thriller Ragini MMS 3, marking a significant return for the popular franchise. While the announcement initially generated considerable excitement among fans, recent developments suggest that the project has hit a temporary roadblock and may be released later than originally planned.

According to a report by Variety India, Ragini MMS 3 has been delayed and is currently on hold until further notice. The film was earlier expected to be directed by Sahir Raza, known for his work on web series such as The Married Woman, Illegal – Justice, Out of Order, and other acclaimed digital projects. However, the latest reports indicate that Raza is no longer attached to the film.

The reported reason behind his exit is a scheduling conflict stemming from his other professional commitments. Sahir Raza is currently serving as a showrunner on an upcoming Netflix series, and a recent mandate from the streaming platform requires showrunners to be present on set daily. This obligation has reportedly made it difficult for him to balance responsibilities across multiple projects, ultimately leading to his removal from Ragini MMS 3.

Following this development, producer Ektaa Kapoor is said to be on the lookout for a new director to take the franchise forward. However, it is important to note that this information remains speculative, as no official announcement has been made by the makers regarding the film’s direction, revised schedule, or creative changes.

Despite the delay, industry buzz around Ragini MMS 3 remains strong, particularly because the upcoming installment is expected to take a fresh narrative approach. Unlike its predecessors, the third film in the franchise is reportedly set to lean more heavily into supernatural horror elements, promising a darker and more intense cinematic experience. This shift could potentially redefine the franchise while retaining its signature thrill and shock value.

For context, the Ragini MMS franchise began in 2011 with a found-footage horror film starring Rajkummar Rao and Kainaz Motivala. The film gained attention for its raw storytelling and eerie realism. The franchise was later revived in 2014 with Ragini MMS 2, which featured Sunny Leone in the lead role and leaned more toward erotic horror, becoming a commercial success. With Ragini MMS 3, the makers appear keen on evolving the franchise further by blending supernatural storytelling with contemporary horror sensibilities.

Meanwhile, Tamannaah Bhatia continues to remain busy with a strong lineup of projects across multiple industries. She is next set to appear in a key role in Shahid Kapoor’s upcoming film O’ Romeo. Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, the action thriller also stars Triptii Dimri, Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Disha Patani, and several others in prominent roles. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on February 13, 2026, and is already generating significant buzz.

Looking ahead, Tamannaah will also be seen in V. Shantaram, where she stars opposite Siddhant Chaturvedi. In addition, she plays the co-lead in the Tamil film Purushan, which stars Vishal and is directed by Sundar C, best known for the Aranmanai franchise. With projects spanning Hindi, Tamil, and pan-Indian cinema, Tamannaah continues to solidify her presence as one of the most versatile actors in the industry.

While Ragini MMS 3 faces temporary uncertainty, the franchise’s return—especially with Tamannaah Bhatia at the forefront—remains one of the most anticipated horror releases whenever it eventually moves forward.
