Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan is all set to impress audiences once again with his upcoming Netflix film Kartavya. The actor will be seen in a serious and intense role as a police officer who is caught between doing his duty and following his conscience. Ever since the trailer was released, fans have been praising his powerful screen presence and rugged desi look. However, one thing that especially grabbed everyone’s attention was his convincing Haryanvi accent.
Saif has often received praise whenever he plays grounded and rustic characters, and Kartavya seems to continue that trend. Speaking about the film, the actor shared that learning the Haryanvi dialect was one of the biggest challenges during preparation. According to him, speaking in a different accent is not only about memorising lines but also about understanding the culture, emotions and style behind the language.
Saif explained that every dialect has its own identity and honesty, which was important for him to bring naturally into the character. He admitted that it took a lot of time, patience and regular practice before he started feeling comfortable with the accent. To improve, he kept listening carefully, reading dialogues repeatedly and practising his lines again and again. Slowly, the accent began to sound more natural to him.
The actor also revealed that director Pulkit was happy with the final result. Even though Saif feels there is always room for improvement, he believes he can now speak a fairly convincing Haryanvi accent after all the hard work he put in for the role.
Fans are now eagerly waiting to see Saif back in a strong and action packed avatar. Apart from Kartavya, the actor has an exciting lineup ahead. He will also appear in Haiwaan, directed by Priyadarshan, and is preparing for his return to the OTT space with the series Hum Hindustani. With multiple big projects coming up, 2026 is shaping up to be a major year for Saif Ali Khan.
