Ariana Grande has seemingly made her rekindled relationship with Ricky Alvarez official on Instagram. The singer shared a series of personal photos on Wednesday, including sweet pictures with Alvarez, giving fans a glimpse into their relationship after reports that the former couple had reunited.
Grande’s Instagram post included a cozy mirror photo in which Alvarez’s arm could be seen wrapped around her shoulder. The couple kept their faces out of the frame, but Grande tagged Alvarez in the post, making it clear who was beside her. Another slightly blurry picture showed the two embracing, with Grande appearing to wear purple fairy wings.
The singer kept the post simple and personal, adding several selfies and pictures of her dogs alongside the romantic snaps. She captioned the photo collection with “🌱 ! ♡.” Alvarez also appeared to acknowledge the post by sharing some of Grande’s pictures on his own Instagram Stories. He reposted a photo of Grande wearing a “Petal” T shirt as well as the image of them hugging.
The Instagram update comes after reports that Grande and Alvarez had rekindled their romance following her split from actor Ethan Slater. The two had previously dated between 2015 and 2016, making their reported reunion a return to a relationship that began nearly a decade ago.
According to earlier reports, Grande was not rushing into the relationship. A source said she has been extremely busy with her career and tour schedule and that the pair were taking their relationship slowly. Alvarez has reportedly remained close to Grande’s family over the years, something the singer is said to value.
Alvarez has also reportedly supported Grande during her current tour. He has attended several of her shows and has been described by sources as being very supportive as she handles the pressure that comes with her career and constant public attention.
Grande began her Eternal Sunshine tour in June and is expected to finish the tour in September. After the tour ends, the singer plans to take a break from the spotlight. Her representative previously described the break as a “much deserved break” after years of intense public attention and scrutiny.
Grande is reportedly planning to spend some of that time with her family, friends and Alvarez. The singer appears to be focusing on her personal life while also preparing to step away from the demanding schedule that has kept her in the public eye.
Grande and Alvarez first met in 2014 when he worked as one of her backup dancers. He later joined her during the 2015 Honeymoon Tour. Their long history and Alvarez’s continued connection with Grande’s family appear to have played an important role in bringing the two back together.
With their latest Instagram posts, Grande and Alvarez have now given fans their clearest public glimpse yet at their rekindled relationship.
