Megastar Chiranjeevi and filmmaker Bobby Kolli are working together again after the success of Waltair Veerayya. Their new Telugu film, earlier known as Mega158, is currently being made. On the occasion of Chiranjeevi’s 71st birthday, the makers officially revealed the film’s title and released its first glimpse. The movie has been titled Kaaka.
The first glimpse introduces Chiranjeevi as Sathyam, a supervisor working at an aqua factory. He appears to be a simple and respected man who is well known in his local area. The glimpse also shows his softer side, especially his close relationship with his daughter.
The video runs for 3 minutes and 2 seconds and gives viewers a look at Sathyam’s family life and his connection with the people around him. However, the final part of the glimpse changes the mood completely. It appears to suggest that Sathyam may not be the ordinary man he seems to be.
The closing moments hint that Sathyam could have a connection to the world of crime and may actually be a gangster living under the identity of a simple family man. This mystery around his character forms one of the key points revealed in the first glimpse.
Sharing the announcement, the makers wrote, “#Mega158 is #KAAKA Presenting the WHOLE NEW SIDE of MEGASTAR @chiranjeevikonidela Garu on his birthday TITLE GLIMPSE OUT NOW KAAKA will set THE BLOODY BENCHMARK on the BIG SCREENS this Sankranthi, on JANUARY 13, 2027 (sic).”
Kaaka is scheduled to release in theatres on January 13, 2027, during the Sankranthi festival. Along with Chiranjeevi, the film features Anaswara Rajan, Nivetha Pethuraj, Sunil and Getup Srinu in important roles.
The film began production in May with a muhurat ceremony attended by Pawan Kalyan and Nagababu. Bobby Kolli has written and directed the film, while Venkat K Narayana is producing it under KVN Productions. Thaman S is composing the music and Antony Ruben is handling the editing. The screenplay has been written by Kona Venkat and K Chakravarthy Reddy.
Chiranjeevi was last seen in Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, which released on January 12, 2026. Directed by Anil Ravipudi, the film also stars Nayanthara and Venkatesh Daggubati. The movie is now available to stream on Zee5.
