Released on February 28, 2025, Crazxy is an intense thriller that has captured the attention of moviegoers. Directed by Girish Kohli and starring Sohum Shah in the lead role, the film revolves around Dr. Abhimanyu Sood, a father who goes to great lengths to rescue his daughter from a kidnapper. Despite a promising start, the movie’s box office performance has shown signs of slowing down after five days of its release.
Box Office Struggles
In the first four days, Crazxy earned Rs 4.35 crore net, which was a modest start. However, the film’s momentum on its first Tuesday remained low, despite a promotional “Buy-One-Get-One” offer on tickets exclusively through Book My Show. The movie’s footfalls have been less than expected, signaling that it may not be able to sustain itself unless it witnesses a significant improvement in box office trends. Industry experts predict a 10% drop on Day 5, which adds to concerns about its long-term success.

Word of Mouth and Competition
Crazxy has received positive feedback from cinephiles, with strong word of mouth from the audience. However, it faces stiff competition from other releases like Superboys of Malegaon and Chhaava. The film will need to earn at least Rs 15 crore in the coming weeks to stay relevant in the competitive box office race.
Sohum Shah’s Return
For Sohum Shah, Crazxy marks his return to the big screen after seven years. Known for his impactful performance in Tumbbad (2018), his presence in the film adds to its appeal. Meanwhile, director Girish Kohli, who has previously worked as a screenwriter on successful films like Mom and Kesari, makes his directorial debut with Crazxy.
With two to three weeks of competition ahead, Crazxy will need to build on its early momentum if it’s to succeed at the box office.
