Directed by Vishal Furia, Maa has collected ₹20 crore net at the Indian box office in its first four days. Featuring Kajol in the lead role, the film opened with ₹4.75 crore on Friday, followed by ₹6 crore on Saturday and ₹6.75 crore on Sunday. Linked to ‘Shaitaan’ Universe but Underwhelming Numbers

Although Maa is connected to the Shaitaan IP  a notable brand in the thriller genre the numbers are modest considering the association. With discount Tuesday expected to provide a slight boost, the film is projected to close its first week at around ₹25 crore. However, Week 2 will see stiff competition from Metro… In Dino and Jurassic World: Rebirth, which may result in Maa losing a significant share of its top screens.

Overseas and Financial Outlook

Internationally, Maa has managed only USD 450–500K so far, and reaching a lifetime USD 1 million will be challenging. That said, the film is financially secure. With non-theatrical rights sold at premium rates and a global theatrical share crossing ₹15 crore, the film is well-positioned to recover its costs, even if theatrical returns taper off.
