Pit Stops at Pushpa 2 and Tiger Zinda Hai
While Sikandar did well on the first day, it was behind other blockbusters. Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2, which came out in December 2024, had a huge opening, with the Hindi version alone raking in Rs 67 crore. Sikandar, by contrast, took Rs 30.06 crore on its first day. Though it opened strongly, Sikandar was not able to equal the opening days of Salman Khan’s last film Tiger Zinda Hai or other big blockbusters.

Mixed Reviews for Sikandar
The film garnered mixed reviews, with film critic Saibal Chatterjee assigning it two out of five stars. He panned the film’s heavy-action sequences, terming it Salman Khan’s version of Jawan but stated that it didn’t provide coherent storytelling. Chatterjee added that the film used too many far-fetched contrivances that didn’t play well.
Salman Khan’s First Collaboration with Rashmika Mandanna and A.R. Murugadoss
Sikandar is the first on-screen pairing of Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna, as well as the first Salman Khan film in collaboration with director A.R. Murugadoss, whose earlier work was on Ghajini (2008). The movie also includes Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, and Sharman Joshi. Although the film received mixed reviews, Sikandar beat Salman’s earlier Eid release Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which collected Rs 15 crore on its first day.
