Marvel’s highly anticipated revamp, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, starring an ace ensemble Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ralph Ineson hit Indian cinemas on July 25, 2025. Matt Shakman directed the movie, which debuted to a fair box office opening, collecting approximately ₹20 crore during its initial weekend.
But the movie saw a significant drop in collections on Monday when it collected just ₹2 crore, says Sacnilk.com. This made its four-day India net total ₹22.10 crore. The movie had collected ₹5.5 crore on the first day, ₹7.1 crore and ₹7.5 crore on the weekend.
Tough Competition from ‘Saiyaara’
The American action-thriller had stiff competition from the continued box office run of Saiyaara, a musical romantic drama featuring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. Directed by Mohit Suri, Saiyaara continued to occupy screen space in India, restricting show time availability of The Fantastic Four in many multiplexes.
Plot & Performances
The Fantastic Four: First Steps brings the legendary superhero team into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with their battle against the powers that have come over them and against the coming of Galactus and his Herald, the Silver Surfer. The movie concentrates on the family aspect among the members, featuring Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards (Mister Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (The Thing).
Leaked Post-Credit Scene Generates Online Hype
In spite of good word of mouth for a shock post-credit scene foreshadowing Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, the scene was leaked online prior to release. The scene features a hooded character approaching Sue Storm’s son, Franklin Richards, and pulling off a silver mask—foreshadowing Doom’s impending role. The leak could have dented the film’s theatrical appeal.
