Can Hari Hara Veera Mallu Recover? Pawan Kalyan’s Film Sees Further Decline on Day 7

‘Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1 – Sword Vs Spirit’ Struggles at the Box Office Despite Star Power

Despite high expectations and a loyal fanbase, Pawan Kalyan’s much-awaited period action drama Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1 – Sword Vs Spirit has had a lukewarm performance at the box office. Released on July 24, with paid previews on July 23, the film has completed its first week in theatres but is yet to cross the Rs 100-crore milestone.

Slow Growth After Strong Opening Weekend

According to data from sacnilk.com, the film earned Rs 1.25 crore on Wednesday, bringing its total domestic net collection to Rs 80.35 crore in seven days. Hari Hara Veera Mallu had an impressive opening with Rs 12.75 crore on Day 1. The weekend numbers were promising Rs 34.75 crore on Day 2, Rs 8 crore on Day 3, and Rs 9.15 crore on Day 4. However, collections dipped significantly after Monday, with only Rs 2.1 crore coming in.

Competition and Comparisons

Although the film has outperformed smaller releases like MAD Square, Court, and Naga Chaitanya’s Thandel, it is still behind HIT: The Third Case, starring Nani, which earned Rs 80.75 crore in its lifetime domestic run. Additionally, the movie faces competition from recent releases such as Dhanush’s Kuberaa, Balakrishna’s Daaku Maharaaj, Ram Charan’s Game Changer, and Venkatesh’s Sankranthiki Vasthunam.

Plot and Performances

Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, Hari Hara Veera Mallu is set in the 17th-century Mughal era. The film follows Veera Mallu, a legendary outlaw played by Pawan Kalyan, who transforms into a revolutionary figure on a mission to retrieve the famed Koh-i-Noor diamond from Emperor Aurangzeb. The film received mixed reviews, with praise for Pawan Kalyan’s performance but criticism for its pacing and narrative.

The ensemble cast includes Bobby Deol as Aurangzeb, Niddhi Agerwal, Sathyaraj, Dilip Tahil, and Vikramjeet Virk in key roles.

OTT Release and Future Prospects

According to a report by 123Telugu, the film is expected to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on August 22, coinciding with megastar Chiranjeevi’s birthday. However, there is no official confirmation from the production team or the streaming platform yet.

With underwhelming box office numbers but high digital interest, all eyes are now on its OTT release, which may give Hari Hara Veera Mallu a second chance to connect with a wider audience.
