Tamil actor Chiyaan Vikram, who is known for his varied performances and intense acting, has again proved his mettle with a great performance in Veera Dheera Sooran. With a reputation for playing tough, intense characters, Vikram excels as Kaali, an ex-gangster who reforms. Despite suffering from unforeseen setbacks, the movie has seen a good box office collection. Within five days, Veera Dheera Sooran earned around ₹28.75 crore in India, with Tamil Nadu contributing ₹22.5 crore. The performance of the film was given a boost by the Ugadi and Ramzan holidays, but the true test will be how it fares on working days after the festival.

Legal Issues on Opening Day
Veera Dheera Sooran encountered legal issues on its opening day when the morning shows and matinees were cancelled nationwide. B4U Entertainment had filed a petition against the OTT rights of the film, alleging that the producers had breached their contract. The problem was settled by the afternoon, and only two shows were run on the Opening Day. Notwithstanding this glitch, the film has been doing well, and estimates indicate a total collection of approximately ₹50 crore at the end of its run. Vikram’s last release, Thangalaan, grossed ₹72 crore globally.
The Story and Vikram’s Role
In Veera Dheera Sooran, Vikram acts Kaali, an ex-gangster turned provision store owner. The story goes about Kaali being drawn back into the criminal world during a temple festival in Madurai. The tensions increase as he clashes with Police Officer Arunagiri (S. J. Suryah) and other gangsters. The story goes on throughout a single night, with a neatly crafted narrative adding depth to the character.

Unfulfilled Potential for Vikram
Vikram still manages to amaze audiences with his performances, but his films fail to leverage the entire potential of his talent. Audiences are keenly waiting to witness him in projects that marry commercial success with excellent storytelling and wait to see him join the club of his contemporaries in the ₹500-1000 crore box office group.
