Bollywood box-office report of the week : 1 august 2013

This week will yet again witness multiple releases in the form of Shilpa Shukla's B.A. PASS, the Deepak Dobriyal and Priya Bhatija starrer CHOR CHOR SUPER CHOR, Rituparna Sengupta's CALAPOR and the Arshad – Riya venture RABBA MAIN KYA KAROON.

With Rohit Shetty's Shahrukh Khan starrer CHENNAI EXPRESS releasing next week, the new releases of this week will face a tough challenge.

Last Friday saw quite a predictable outcome with the Ranvir, Tusshar, Vishakha and Ravi Kissen starrer, BAJATEY RAHO, leading the pack and ended the weekend netting 4.75- 5 crore.

The remaining releases of the week, which included Prateik-Amyra's ISSAQ and the Poonam Pandey starrer NASHA, turned out to be damp squibs netting about 2.50-2.75 crore during the opening weekend.

Netting 24 crore during the opening week, the Prabhudheva directed RAMAIYA VASTAVAIYA is heading towards an average status.

The Farhan Akhtar starrer is a super hit. BHAAG MILKHA BHAAG is impressive in the overseas (especially US) grossing ?231,000 from UK and $1,425,000 from the US till the third weekend (26-28 July).
