This Friday's premier release is going to be the Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer 2 STATES. Giving company to 2 STATES will be Feroz Abbas Khan's DEKH TAMASHA DEKH and Inderjit Film Combines' LUCKY KABOOTER. It is obvious that the front runner is going to be the Sajid Nadiadwala and Karan Johar produced 2 STATES, not only in India but even the overseas, more so due to Chetan Bhagat's cult following, on whose paperback the film is based.
Meanwhile after a dull opening day, Amitabh Bachchan's BHOOTHNATH RETURNS (with cameos by SRK and Ranbir), saw a great pick up during the remaining two days of the weekend (Saturday and Sunday), netting 17-18 crore. The film is trending very well in the weekdays and is expected to be a good success, if not hit. BHOOTHNATH RETURNS is dull in the overseas grossing ?62,000 from UK and $88,000 from the US, during the opening weekend (11-13 April).

Netting nearly 36 crore during the opening week from India, MAIN TERA HERO is a sure shot success given that it has already recovered a major chunk of its all inclusive 38 crore cost, via non-theatrical rights.
The other release of the week, Girish Malik's Mukul, Purab, Tannishtha and Kirti starrer, JAL, failed at the ticket window.
Meanwhile, from the three older releases, Shipla Shetty's DISHKIYAOON, Atul-Alvira's O TERI, and the Syed Ahmad Afazal directed YOUNGISTAAN, it was just the Jackky Bhagnani starrer YOUNGISTAAN that could achieve something significant during the second week by adding another crore, thereby netting 10 crore in two weeks from India. YOUNGISTAAN though remains a below average fare.
Concluding with Vikas Bahl's Kangana-Rajkumar starrer, QUEEN, the film saw another reasonable week collecting 50 lakhs from Bombay (collections from other cinemas unreceived), 5.75 lakhs from Ahmedabad, 2 lakhs from Surat, 2.15 lakhs from Baroda (collections from 2 cinemas unreceived), 14.35 lakhs from Pune, 45 lakhs from Delhi city, 8.75 lakhs from Noida, 2.50 lakhs from Ghaziabad, 1.50 lakhs from Kanpur, 3.15 lakhs from Lucknow, 6.65 lakhs from Gurgaon, 3.50 lakhs from Chandigarh, 1 lakh from Jalandhar, 15 lakhs from Calcutta, 3.25 lakhs from Nagpur, 3 lakhs from Indore, 2 lakhs from Bhopal, 3.50 lakhs from Jaipur, 10 lakhs from Hyderabad and 30 lakhs from Bangalore. Adding another 2.50 crore, QUEEN has netted 61 crore in five weeks from India and is a superhit, the first of the year 2014. QUEEN is also superb in the overseas (especially US) grossing ?203,000 from UK and $1,385,500 from the US till the sixth weekend (11-13 April).
