Bollywood box-office report of the week : 30 june 2011

This Friday is set for an interesting clash as Aamir Khan's DELHI BELLY is all set to take on Amitabh Bachchan's BBUDDAH… HOGA TERRA BAAP. As things stand today, DELHI BELLY is likely to have good start at city multiplexes, while BBUDDAH will own the single screens and also do good business at Hindi belt multiplexes. The big advantage that the Amitabh Bachchan starrer enjoys over Imran Khan's DELHI BELLY is that BBUDDAH is only a 10.50 crore film as opposed to the 25 crore DELHI BELLY. Having said that, as far as the numbers are concerned, the first day as well as the first weekend honours will belong to DELHI BELLY.

Last Friday saw the release of Indra Kumar's DOUBLE DHAMAAL, the sequel to his 2007 success, DHAMAAL. The film embarked on a good start and improved with each passing day, during the weekend, netting a good 25.62 crores! Given the good start the film is hopefully all set to be a plus fare for many of its distributors! DOUBLE DHAMAAL has also done very well in the Overseas (given the cast) grossing ?118,000 from UK and $302,000 from US during the opening weekend (24-26 June).

Moving on, EROS International and Red Chillies Entertainment's ALWAYS KABHI KABHI proves to be a nightmare for all concerned.
