The official trailer of Season 2 of First Copy has been unveiled, and the wait for the crime drama to resume on Amazon MX Player finally ends this November 5, 2025. After the resounding success of its inaugural season, the series plunges deep into the dark underbelly of film piracy in Mumbai during the early 2000s, intelligently intermingling ambition, betrayal, and power.
The trailer has an intense, gritty tone, with Munawar Faruqui’s character, Arif, trying to survive this chaotic world of pirated film networks. Opening shots juxtapose his slick confidence against moments of despair as this is a man caught between ambition and morality. It captures the raw mechanical functions of the piracy business: stacks of CDs, humming computers, underground operations; it brings authenticity to the setting.
Glimpses of Arif’s love interest, Ashi Singh, and Krystle D’Souza’s Mona, whose troubled dynamic with Arif provides emotional depth, make appearances throughout. In the trailer, there are shots of police interrogations led by Meiyang Chang, high-speed pursuits, and violent confrontations-apparent signs of higher stakes and fractured loyalties. Partially set on glamorous international locations, the story insinuates that Arif’s empire has grown beyond borders.
The new season picks up with Arif at a crossroads, aiming to restore his glory after having fallen from grace. Faruqui shared that Season 2 is more about the self-discovery of Arif rather than the tussle of power, and D’Souza mentioned how ambition strains relationships.

Returning cast includes Gulshan Grover, Saqib Ayub, Singh, Chang, Inam Ul Haq, and Raza Murad, while Nawab Shah joins the cast. According to Series Director Farhan P. Zamma, Season 2 reflects the cultural pulse of early 2000s Mumbai with bigger characters, higher stakes, and a powerful reflection on how unchecked ambition can lead to a downfall.
First Copy Season 2 will be streaming from November 5, 2025, only on Amazon MX Player.
