The trailer for Sitaare Zameen Par, Aamir Khan’s much-awaited film and a spiritual successor to his 2007 hit Taare Zameen Par, was unveiled on May 13. Set for theatrical release on June 20, 2025, the film promises a deeply emotional journey, blending sports, social issues, and personal transformation.
A Coach in Crisis
Directed by R.S. Prasanna and produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Sitaare Zameen Par follows the story of Gulshan (played by Khan), a disgraced former basketball coach who finds himself in legal trouble after a public meltdown. As part of his court-mandated community service, he is assigned to coach a basketball team comprised of children on the autism spectrum.
Initially depicted as insensitive and egoistic, Gulshan undergoes a gradual transformation as he starts connecting with his team. The trailer shows his evolution from frustration to empathy, hinting at a deeply moving arc that mirrors his personal redemption.
A Role Unlike Any Other
Speaking about the film earlier this year, Aamir Khan noted, “In this film, my character’s name is Gulshan, but his personality is exactly opposite to Nikumbh’s (from Taare Zameen Par). He is not sensitive at all.”
The film also stars Genelia Deshmukh as Gulshan’s love interest and introduces a talented ensemble of debutants including Aroush Datta, Samvit Desai, Ayush Bhansali, Simran Mangeshkar, and others as the spirited basketball players.
Music & Creative Team
With music by the celebrated trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya, the film promises an emotionally rich and musically engaging experience.
