The trailer of Tanvi The Great has been released officially, presenting a strong preview of an emotional and uplifting experience. Presented on the Anupam Kher Studio YouTube page, the three-minute trailer brings out Shubhangi Dutt playing her first role as Tanvi Raina, a 21-year-old autistic woman who refuses to dream small.
Tanvi resides with her mother Vidya (Pallavi Joshi) and grandfather Colonel Pratap Raina (Anupam Kher). Her life changes when she goes to Lansdowne and is interested in the Indian Army. Tormented by the memory of her father, Samar Raina (Karan Tacker), who passed away while on duty, Tanvi feels that she would pay homage to his memory by becoming an army person herself.
A Battle Against Societal Norms
The trailer captures Tanvi’s fierce determination as she confronts institutional barriers and societal biases that challenge autistic individuals in traditionally rigid environments like the military. Despite her grandfather’s shock and public resistance, Tanvi begins her training under Major Srinivasan (Arvind Swami), pleading with him to make her a “cheetah.”
The movie depicts her physical and emotional journey as she tirelessly strives to achieve her father’s dream — to reach the top of Siachen Glacier, the world’s highest war zone, and salute the Indian flag.
Stellar Cast and Powerful Backing
Anupam Kher directed the movie, which also includes Boman Irani in a light-hearted role, Jackie Shroff, Iain Glen, and M Nasser in significant roles. The music for the film is done by Oscar winner MM Keeravani, which lends emotional credibility to the narrative of the movie.
Tanvi The Great is being made by Anupam Kher Studios in association with NFDC. It will be released worldwide by AA Films and Excel Entertainment. The movie will release in theatres on July 18, 2025.
