As with the previous films, this installment of Mardaani will, again, bring a very strong new villain, given the trend set by past franchisees of powerful antagonist characters. Rani will reprise her role as Shivani Shivaji Roy-a character that is closest to her heart and that of her fans alike. This film will be released theatrically because Rani believes in bigger screen projects. In addition, YRF has teased the next chapter to mark the 10th anniversary of Mardaani, which further fuels the anticipation among her loyal fans.
