Taapsee Pannu, who got married to ex-Danish badminton player Mathias Boe in March 2024, recently shared a heartfelt moment from her first visit to the Nanhi Kali project after her wedding. The actress posted an emotional video on Instagram, taking a glimpse into the beautiful tradition done by the women and girls of the project to make her and Mathias feel welcome as a married couple.
A Beautiful Tradition, A Special Bond
Taapsee and Mathias are also spotted in the video sitting side by side, beaming with happiness as Nanhi Kali women and girls envelop them with love. The couple is adorned with garlands of marigold flowers, and the women present fruits, sweets, and other symbolic presents in Taapsee’s lap—a customary tradition done when a bride comes back home after marriage.
Taapsee, in a voiceover, looked back at the moment and stated, “Mathias and I have been working with these girls and their families for years… but we came for this visit and didn’t even know it was our first visit here post-wedding. These women remembered and celebrated so beautifully.” She continued, “Sometimes when you attempt to do good, unwittingly, lots of good comes to you.”. I’m taking home a lot of blessings today.”
Longtime Supporter of Girls’ Education
Taapsee has been associated with the Nanhi Kali project—a program dedicated to educating underprivileged girls—for several years. She currently supports the education of 100 girls and often advocates for the importance of empowering young women through education.
A Private Wedding and Busy Career
Taapsee and Mathias’s wedding in Udaipur was an intimate affair with close relatives and friends present, and less than a handful of Bollywood stars. On the professional side, Taapsee’s latest appearance was in Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, alongside Vikrant Massey and Sunny Kaushal.
