Actress Reveals Shocking Details! “Hero’s nighttime calls” lead to bold statements

In Bollywood, there's a dark side involving the "casting couch," where aspiring actors and actresses are pressured to provide sexual favors in exchange for film roles

In Bollywood, there’s a dark side involving the “casting couch,” where aspiring actors and actresses are pressured to provide sexual favors in exchange for film roles. A famous actress, known for bold on-screen characters, spoke about facing pressure from big male stars to meet late at night and maintain her on-screen persona. Due to her unwillingness to give in to this pressure, she experienced a severe reduction in film offers.

Mallika Sherawat, who is famous for her bold on-screen character, has shed light on the seedy side of Bollywood. She described how her unwillingness to give into pressure of giving in to casting couch resulted in a severe reduction in film offers. In a recent interview, she revealed how some of Bollywood’s biggest male stars asked her to meet them late at night and wanted her to keep up her on-screen persona.

“Several heroes requested that I meet them at midnight and harassed me continuously,” Mallika explained. “Why would I go? Just because I did risky scenes on screen? I didn’t compromise, and so the offers stopped.”

Industry Misjudged Her Based on On-Screen Image
The Khwahish (2003) actress explained that her seductive roles were professionally motivated and not representative of who she is as a person. She said, “It’s wrong to think my bold on-screen image represents who I am in real life. I’m not that kind of person.”

Even though she had to share the screen with top actors Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Feroz Khan, and Akshay Kumar, Mallika confessed that some of the A-list celebrities misused their authority to intimidate her. Her firm denial prevented her from getting some opportunities, but she remained dedicated to her principles.

Casting Couch: A Longstanding Industry Issue
Sherawat’s comments have renewed the spotlight on the issue of the casting couch in Bollywood. Several actresses have spoken out about it quite candidly over the last few years. She reaffirmed what everyone already knows—that young women are usually expected to compromise in order to get roles.

Her bold revelations still raise important questions among the industry and people.
