3 National Awards for CHILLAR PARTY


A co-production from UTV Spotboy and Salman Khan‘s Being Human, CHILLAR PARTY has proudly walked away with three awards at the 59th National Film Awards.

Directed by debutants Nitesh Tiwari and Vikas Bahl, CHILLAR PARTY, which saw a worldwide release on July 8, 2011, bagged three awards which included the prestigious Best Children’s Film. Vikas Bahl and Nitesh Tiwari won in the category for Best Original Screenplay and the nine child actors – Irfan Khan, Sanath Menon, Rohan Grover, Nama Jain, Aarav Khanna, Vishesh Tiwari, Chinmai Chandransuh, Vedant Desai and Divij Handa shared the Best Child Artist’s Award.

Vikas Bahl says, ”Salim Uncle, Rajkumar Hirani Sir, Salman, Ranbir and Sohail’s conviction in CHILLAR PARTY paid off and I was waiting when I could thank them for their generosity and love. Now it’s time to celebrate with my dog whose love made me make this film.”

CHILLAR PARTY is the story of a bunch of kids from Chandan Nagar called Encyclopedia, Jhanghia, Akram, Secondhand, Panauti, Silencer, Aflatoon and Shaolin in whose lives enter two strangers – Fatka and Bheedu. And together they alter the course of their future by never giving up on what they believe in.
