Even though he has been in the industry for over 13 years and done 40 odd films, Aftab Shivdasani went a little slow during last couple of years when it came to signing films. It is apparent that this was a conscious call that he took because one could sense a renewed energy and fire in him when he returned with the box office success 1920 – EVIL RETURNS.
''I was only looking for good opportunities. After having worked with probably some of the best makers in the industry, I was not willing to compromise on doing films that didn't creatively excite me. Yes, the break was a little unintentional but I have no regrets as I wanted to work in only those films that satisfied me as an actor. Since I wasn't getting such offers, I didn't work in other films just for the sake of working. I want to be honest with my work and in the meantime was happy doing my own thing,'' says Aftab.
This meant going round the globe for tours that were spread over weeks at stretch.
''Yes, I was on my own soul searching journey where I spent a lot of time with myself. God has been kind that I have people like Vikram and Induji (Indra Kumar) in my life who gave me another opportunity to come back and be a part of their successful franchises like 1920: EVIL RETURNS and GRAND MASTI,'' says Aftab.
Now one looks forward to all the 'masti' and 'dhamaal' once Aftab comes out of the sombre zone of 1920: EVIL RETURNS and gets into a riotous outing with GRAND MASTI while reuniting with partners-in-crime Riteish Deshmukh and Vivek Oberoi.
