While Yash Raj Films’ last major outing, Aamir-Katrina’s DHOOM 3, has already hit a double century, netting well in excess of 200 crore, the premier production house’s upcoming venture, GUNDAY, seems well and truly on way to continue the grand success story forward.

Set in the early seventies Kolkata (then Calcutta), the film has the backdrop/dominance of the black gold (coal), the most precious and power wielding commodity of that era.
The theatrical promo that went along with DHOOM 3 was very well received by the audience, who are likening the ambience of GUNDAY to classic films like Yash Raj’s very own KAALA PATHAR and SHOLAY (may be due to Jai-Veeru!).
The film indeed carries the nostalgia of that era, and despite the fact that a lot of period films have been made that have touched upon the seventies, yet GUNDAY, appears to be in a league of its own.
The interesting cast, that consists of the newest top league star, Ranveer Singh (a super star in the making), Arjun Kapoor and experienced and class actors like Irrfan Khan and Priyanka Chopra, is likely to chart out another triumph for Yash Raj Films’ when GUNDAY releases all over on 14th February, Valentine’s Day.
