She fell in love with a thief (Abhay Deol – OYE LUCKY! LUCKY OYE!) and then played a strong part of a gangster’s (Manoj Bajpai – GANGS OF WASSEYPUR I AND II) wife. However tables have turned for the Delhi girl Richa Chadda who is now playing a gangster herself in this week’s release FUKREY.

”It is a funny feeling, isn’t it,” she smiles, ”I could feel like a gangster’s wife after shooting so many days for GANGS OF WASSEYPUR. Now I am a gangster myself in FUKREY, albeit in a comic zone. The character development is so special here. I have managed to live an altogether different life without any baggage whatsoever. In fact honestly speaking, at least during last 20 days of the film’s shooting, I actually started feeling like this mean woman who could go any distance to get what she wants.”
For her, it has been a quick return to Delhi from OYE LUCKY! LUCKY OYE! to FUKREY and though she hails from the city, it was a different world and surrounding that she evidenced during the making of both films.

”Personally too there has been a change. During the days of OLLO mujhme bachpana bhi bahaut tha. I didn’t even know how to give interviews in a right way,’ she laughs, ‘On the other hand here I am talking to you and you can hear a different me. Guess a part of that can also be attributed to the fact that in my journey from playing a ‘Dolly’ to ‘Bholi Punjaban’, I have seen this whole personality shift in me.”
We would like to see that for ourselves once FUKREY hits the screens this Friday.
